Write for us
We welcome considered pitches about rural travel that help readers notice a place, plan a thoughtful outing or understand how a countryside journey fits together.
What we welcome
Pitch original, reader-focused ideas about routes, landscapes, village places, planning or travel habits. Strong proposals have a clear subject, a reason it matters to a general reader and a distinct angle that is not simply a list of destinations.
What makes a useful pitch
Briefly explain the central idea, the reader it serves, the shape of the piece and the material you would draw on. Tell us if the proposal relies on first-hand reporting, images or time-sensitive information. Do not present speculation as fact or promise access you do not have.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title and a short outline in your message. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; please do not send completed work unless requested.
A journey is richer when the way matters too
We value the places between destinations: a lane, a field edge, a village street. Our writing helps readers notice those details and make room for them.
